We ate here and chose from the "Special" selection. We had the selection of 3 fishes (sea bass, salmon and smoked haddock) all of which were moist, succulent and simply but nicely presented. Staff were pleasant and service was excellent.

I have been twice now to Fat Loaf to celebrate a birthday. The food is lovely, the service absolutely excellent. Paul one of the owners, really goes through the menu choices. Varied Menu, desserts to die for. Steak is just fab, and the Sea Bass, very popular with my group of friends. Nice atmosphere and stylish premises. I would highly recommend it. NB Make it your next night out!!!

my wife and I had a meal at the fat loaf approximately 2 weeks ago. The place itself is quite contemporary, warm and inviting. We were greeted on arrival and made welcome at the bar while we waited for our food. The seating arrangements are ok but we felt quite overlooked where we were as we had been placed in the middle of the floor where the staff walk by to access the bar etc. The food - the starter was fantastic, goats cheese wrapped in a light pancake on a bed of golden beetroot salad. The main course was good but we both found too much salt was used but other than it was ok. Desert - mmm mmm mmm what can I say except excellent. The service was very good we were looked after very well. Overall the whole experience was great but even though we had one main meal free as part of the offer we found it still a little on the pricey side (think this was due to price of wine).

What a wizard night out! It started with a magical goats cheese tartlet with rocket salad, splendid for a quadditch fest. I had the Rib Eye steak, however, Malfouy had the rabbit saddle ( I couldn't face it as my little bunny Flopsy had gone missing the day before!). Uncle Hagrid said that the cheesecake was delicious but was disappointed that there was NO NUTS IN THE LEMON DRIZZLE CAKE! There was plenty of chatty banter from all of the Griffindaw clan as we were tended by very attentive staff. The chicken and sprout puree was very adventurous and will be well repeated at Christmas time (or any other time it is eaten.!!) On a serious note, these boys are really going places and it is an absolute pleasure to observe them grow! Keep it up lads!

A very welcome change from other places in Sale. This is a superb place to eat and drink your choice of wine. Have taken many guests here and all say what a pleasure it is to visit. Keep it up but don't spoil it by getting a license !!

Can't say enough nice things about this place. Been going since the Guardian did a nice write-up about it in their Guide section last year. A much-needed change from Sale's range of sports bars and run-of-the-mill restaurants. Lovely, unpretentious bistro with simple decor, recently extended which can only be a good thing as it's half it's original small size. Staff are friendly and efficient and the open-plan kitchen makes for something to watch and chatty banter with the chef/proprietor. Food is lovely, simple and modern British, and the menu changes weekly. If I have to critize at all, I'd only suggest a little more of a sense of adventure with some of the flavours...though it isn't fusion food they're doing, so I'll let them off! The early bird special gets you two courses for £13.50 if you sit down before 6.45 on a Tuesday-Thursday. They did offer free coffee and biccies too, but I think they dropped that when they got popular!

Myself, family and friends have eaten at the Fat Loaf five or six times. The quality of the food is superb and the menu updated on a regular basis. Given the bonus of no corkage on wine it is really fabulous value. We feel really lucky that we have such a gem so close to home.
