We had a private lunch at fat loaf yesterday. The welcome was great, the servive superb yet relaxed and the food excellent and very original. Their smoked haddock fish cakes(balls) were delicious. Fat loaf always lives up to expectaion and often exceeds it. |

A group of 6 of us dined for the first time at Fat Loaf last Friday. The food was fantastic and of a reasonable price. The restaurant had a very plesant atmosphere. Only slight down side they did appear to be under staffed. Would recommend to all, will be returning soon. |

We had to have a second visit to make sure it wasn't a one off. Wonderful food, excellent service and reasonably priced. Let's all make sure that Fat Loaf gets the support it needs to be around for a long time. |

Fantastic quality food, we really enjoyed this meal. At the time we visited (approx 7.30 on a wednesday) there was a lack of ambience initially due to lack of early diners but by 8 - 8.30 a fair few more diners had arrived who seemed to be enjoying the gorgeous food and great service as much as we had. |

Fat Loaf was the venue for my "suprise" birthday party and all i can say is what an absolutely fantastic night i and everyone had. The whole restaurant was exclusive to us, the food was second to none and the staff superb! I would and will be, recommending Fat Loaf as both a perfect venue for a function and as a first class restaurant to everyone!! |

Just a couple of miles down the road from the original restaurant in Sale, the second Fat Loaf opened in Altrincham at the end of 2006. This new site not only re-established the Fat Loaf name in the region but served to move the concept on from local bistro to burgeoning restaurant brand. Fat Loaf Altrincham is much bigger than its Sale counterpart, set in a vast building (the former home of Jam Fish). Just like its sibling, however, the restaurant is inoffensively modern in décor and notable for a great seasonal menu and top notch fresh ingredients. The menu is short and sweet in order to maintain quality, and while the limited choice may bother some the standard certainly is high. The cuisine is best described as refined comfort food - modern European flavours are mixed with the best of British and served with finesse. Guests can currently choose from the likes of Gloucester old spot sausages with bubble and squeak (£10.95) and Lamb shoulder with a spiced tomato and chickpea broth (£12.50). Only one special is generally on offer, but here the restaurant experiment with more ambitious food pairings, which they usually pull of in style. Drinks-wise, aside from the well balanced wine menu, there is a cracking selection of European beers that should definitely be sampled. |
